Joint Statement in Support of Progress toward a Crimes Against Humanity Treaty

Serious crimes proliferate around the world. Crimes against humanity are among the most serious crimes in international law. Yet, there is currently no treaty regulating their prevention and punishment. The draft treaty on crimes against humanity represents an opportunity to fill a crucial gap in international law. That’s why Transitional Justice Working Group (TJWG) is joining 300+ others to call on UN Member States to make it clear that they support advancing the draft treaty.

UN Member States can show support for a gender-competent and survivor-centric treaty on crimes against humanity. Tell UN Member States to support advancing a draft treaty at next week’s SixthCommittee session and join 300+ organizations and individuals fighting to ensure they seize this opportunity. cahtreatynow.org/joint-statement-in-support-of-progress-toward-a-crimes-against-humanity-treaty/
